Anyone Ever Get Hives Or Allergic Reaction to Hotel Sheets?

Yep!!! I thought I was the only one!!! I have to take my own sheets and blankets with us when we go on vacation! It is not always practical but well worth it! I spent three nights in an ICU because of hives/allergic reaction that was so bad it had caused my throat to swell to the point where I could not breathe! It was determined that I was allergic to one of many things...from the detergent used to wash the bedding to the products used by someone who had slept in the bed. It was never really figured out which one but made sense! We have a spare set of king sheets and blankets that get packed in the suit case for every trip we take! I also take my own pillow too! This may be the way to go for you as well! Good Luck!

Anyone Ever Get Hives Or Allergic Reaction to Hotel Sheets? 1

1. Hotel sheets/on period/sex?

I am sure they use industrial strength washers along with plenty of bleach and or detergent and wash in water as close to boiling as you can get followed by drying at super high temps. If it ai not dead by then, they shoot it

2. My period stained the hotel sheets, now what?

First, attempt to get the stain out on your own. Cool water, hand soap, and a little gentle elbow grease can get the majority of the stain out. They will appreciate the effort. Next, honesty is the best policy. Seriously, they have seen EVERYTHING so your period is NOT going to phase them. The worst they could do is make you pay for the sheet/blanket.

4. Anyone ever get hives or allergic reaction to hotel sheets?

5. What do I do if I bled on the hotel sheets?

Do not concern yourself, a note and small tip to the maid would be a nice gesture, but this is a very common occurrence. Oh and Chris, LMAO nicely done

6. Time For A Bedroom Update? These Are The Best Comforter Sets You Can Buy

Whether you opt for the understated elegance of hotel bedding or prefer something opulent, the best luxury comforter sets come in soft, smooth materials and intricate textures that make your home feel like a haven. Below you will find plenty of options that will completely transform your space - and at plenty of price points, too. For luxury hotel-style bedding, elegance is refusal: the Saint Regis makes up their heavenly beds with a crisp white cotton duvet cover. To get a similar feel that's a little less stark and more, well, luxurious, consider the classic hotel stripe in cotton sateen. It's iconic but still minimal and clean. Those in search of a high-end yet accessible look might prefer a waffle weave in cotton percale. Likewise, a French linen set takes farmhouse style up a notch for that upscale heritage appeal. However, if you want to create a truly opulent look and feel, seek out gorgeous textures and patterns. Tufting and pleats all require extra fabric that implies excess. Meanwhile, satin and velvet are visually gorgeous and tactile. The patterns most likely to elevate your space will have a bit of old-world flair to them, like damask. In terms of color, neutrals rule the day for an unhurried feel that encourages tranquility, which is exactly what you want in a room meant to be a refuge. If you love bolder hues, try jewel tones for stately impact, or disregard my advice entirely and buy what you freaking love: a custom space is the ultimate luxury. While comforter cover materials can be as varied as luxe mulberry silk to rough-hewn linen and crisp cotton, almost all of them will rely on a vegan down alternative fill (usually polyester) that has the added bonus of being hypoallergenic. That said, some sets here include only the cover itself and you will have to provide the insert, which requires a little extra legwork on your part but allows for the ultimate customization. Whatever your aesthetic and no matter your budget, these are some of the most gorgeous bedding sets for seriously sweet dreams. For a posh hotel finish with a little texture, this waffle weave comforter set is made from crisp cotton percale (a material that's also popular in hotel sheets) that features a smooth backing for a comfortable feel. Polyester down-alternative fill offers year-round warmth, and the entire thing is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Certified to be free of toxic chemicals. Two sham covers are also included in this boutique-quality set. 2. This Gorgeous Jacquard Comforter Set With An Elegant Bed Skirt An intricate jacquard appliqu over subtly textured backing with velvet trim and embroidered throw pillows makes for a beautiful bedding set. The comforter pairs with two matching standard shams, in addition to Euro pillow covers and two decorative pillows, with a tailored bed skirt for a clean finish. The comforter is made from polyester with vegan down-alternative fill that's heavy enough to keep you bundled up at night. "Wow! What a triumph! This bedding is so lovely, modern, and chic," one fan gushed. "The detailed design and quality is great...This product is a winner." Multiple shoppers compared this linen duvet cover set to West Elm and Pottery Barn for its ultra-high quality and minimalist-luxe appeal. All-natural linen is stonewashed for a soft, broken-in feel that's pure French farmhouse - and it only gets better with time. The fiber is stronger than cotton and silk and will actually help you feel significantly cooler if you are a hot sleeper, although much of that will also depend on the type of insert you choose (Note: this set does not come with a comforter). Inside the duvet cover you will find corner ties to secure a comforter, and a hidden zipper closure (as opposed to buttons or ties) is well worth the investment for extra ease. "I spent over $700 on pure linen sheets from Europe for my master bedroom and these feel like better quality for a fraction of the cost," one fan confessed. "The zipper closure is amazing as buttons always come undone...There is not four but EIGHT ties inside to keep the duvet in place, something my overpriced linens does not even have. I am obsessed with these and will definitely purchase again." The duvet cover comes with two matching shams, and you can pick up the matching linen sheets here. 4. A Plush Tufted Comforter That Practically Drips Off The Bed With intricate pleating and sweeps of luxe fabric, this neutral comforter set is understated yet sumptuous. The microfiber exterior is brushed for added softness with pillowy polyester fill in an all-season weight that's overstuffed for a lush look. The comforter comes with two standard shams as well as Euro pillow covers and three decorative pillows with pintucks and embroidery. "None of the pictures do it justice. It truly is beautiful. I expected it to feel rough or cheap due to the low cost, I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually of great quality. I've paid 5-6 times this for comforter sets and been less pleased with the quality," a reviewer noted. Paging Z. Gallerie - this bedding set is 21st century luxe in a crushed metallic velvet with a geometric accent pillow thrown into the mix. The seven-piece set includes a comforter and two standard shams in addition to three smaller decorative pillows and a crisp bed skirt. Notably absent from the mix is a set of Euro pillow covers, which you may not miss thanks to this set's sleek aesthetic. The polyester velvet is ultra-soft and easy to care for, and the crinkle finish means you do not have to care about wrinkles coming out of the dryer ever again. "LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this comforter set! I had been looking for something similar in the department stores but they were all $200 and up," a shopper pointed out. Looking for more colors? You might also want to consider this velvet comforter set that looks nearly identical but comes in the richest shades. This hotel stitch duvet cover set offers Restoration Hardware style for a fraction of the price, and it boasts an impressive 4.4-star rating on Amazon, too. The 100% cotton sateen duvet cover, in a 400 thread count, is the same fabric used to make those wonderful sheets at high-end hotels like the Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons, and that's exactly what you will find here. What is more, it's made in an OEKO-TEX Standard 100 factory, so you can rest easy knowing that it was manufactured in an environment free of harsh processing chemicals. The set comes with two shams, although several shoppers were ready to buy more. "I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the duvet cover. The fabric was soft to the touch, and the design has a simple elegance to it. The closure uses buttons, not a zipper, in case anyone is having trouble finding that information. I do wish that supplementary shams could be ordered to match the set," one fan reported. While the brand does not carry individual shams, this set from a different manufacturer looks remarkably similar if you wanted to add on. It does not get much more luxurious than a silk duvet cover set that is naturally temperature-regulating and hypoallergenic, in addition to being the most decadent thing ever. It includes a duvet cover and two pillow shams - both fully reversible - in high-quality mulberry silk with a solid 19 momme weight. The four corner ties inside the duvet cover easily accommodate the insert of your choosing. Certified to the OEKO-Tex Standard 100, it's a luxury option that's good for you and the environment, too. Given that a set of silk pajamas easily costs a third of this set, you will find this is one investment that really pays off in the long run. If a bed full of silk is not in the budget, then I highly recommend some silk pillowcases for an affordable luxury that's super-gentle on your skin and hair. I personally own this set of silk pillowcases, which has survived one year and two cats with nary a snag and is a fantastic value for a set of two. 8. A Faux-Silk Tufted Comforter Set That Comes With Everything, Even Curtains This bed in a bag set has it all - and then some. A comforter, microfiber sheet set, standard and Euro shams, four decorative pillows, a 15-inch bed skirt, and layered curtains all add up to a "one and done" decorating solution you do not have to coordinate. The comforter, which features a polyester filling, comes in tufted faux silk with a clean border that is opulent yet not too fussy and that motif is carried through the rest of the set. "Absolutely love this comforter set!" one shopper praised. "The quality is great and great price for everything it includes. It ties our master bedroom together with a nice elegant look. I would highly recommend." You might also like the line's damask comforter set with curtains for a pop of jewel-toned color.

The Best Hotel Sheets for a Luxury Experience at Home | Oyster
In these trying times, self-care is more important than ever. And one of the simplest ways you can keep yourself healthy is by getting a good night's sleep. We can not think of a better way to truly spoil yourself right now than by giving your bed the luxury hotel overhaul treatment. Whether you want to splurge on Frette sheets or just learn how to make your bed like a hotel, with crisp and clean corners, we've got you covered. Read on for our guide to the best hotel sheets (and some cheaper alternatives), and turn your bedroom into a much-needed heaven right now. And while you are at, why not make at-home turndown service a thing? Chocolates placed on pillows are always welcome. Here's how to make your whole house as comfortable as a luxury hotel. The Best Hotel Sheets for a Five-Star Hotel Experience at Home If you want to have the all-out luxury hotel experience in your own bed, you are going to have to pay for it. The world's most sought after linens can cost as much or more than your mattress in some cases. That's especially true if you are opting for the creme-de-la-creme sheets made by Frette and Sfera. However, you wo not be disappointed — there's a reason why you will find Frette sheets and other high-end bedding at hotel chains like Thompson, Rosewood, and Mandarin-Oriental. And that reason is: Comfort. Quite possibly the gold standard when it comes to luxurious hotel linens, Frette has been producing the most famous Italian sheets available for over 160 years. You will find these perfect linens lining the beds of the world's best hotel brands, including Mandarin Oriental and Ritz-Carlton. Not only do they feel good on your skin, they wash well, and hold up to multiple washings. (Sorry, we can not get a hotel maid to wash and iron your bed sheets at home.) From the exceptionally elegant Baccarat Hotel & Residences in New York City to smaller luxury boutique properties, Mascioni hails from the era of Italian mid-century design. However, the look and feel of these sheets is utterly timeless. In fact, Mascioni was founded to originally only supply sheets to the finest hotels in Italy. Lucky for us, they've expanded their offerings and are now available to trick out your bed at home. Monogramming optional, but highly encouraged. Dressing the beds of chic hotel chains like Thompson and Rosewood, Sferra sheets go a long way to making you feel as spoiled as you do on vacation. Founded in 1891, the Italian home linen brand offers a huge array of styles to choose from — though of course we recommend the Grande Hotel collection in crisp white. However, the Fiona collection offers a nice selection of hues as well, should you want to spice it up just a touch. Do not forget to turn back the covers to emulate turndown service. If your tastes — and morals — have you thinking about how your luxuries impact your carbon footprint and the health of the earth, you would do well to check out the brands below. Saatva, Cozy Earth, and Cultiver all create amazing linens that help minimize their ecological impacts in various ways. All three brands also stack up to the quality level found at luxury hotels (and, in the case of Cultiver, you will find their bedding on some of Australia's quaintest boutique hotels). If you are looking for luxury that's also ethically sourced and better for the earth, you would do well to dress your bed in Saatva sheets. These 100% organic linens are the stuff (sweet) dreams are made of and come from one of the most popular contemporary mattress companies out there. Given that fact, it's safe to assume that Saatva knows a thing or two about a good night's sleep. Travelers who care about sleep hygiene know that part of sleeping well means keeping your body cool. That's easier to achieve with sheets made from certain fabrics, like bamboo. Cozy Earth makes completely sustainable bamboo-fiber sheets that help decrease humidity and trap less body heat to allow you to drift off in comfort. Looking for something a little different? We suggest Australian company Cultiver. Consistently rated as some of the best linen sheets out there by nearly every independent review site, these are 100% flax linen sheets. They are smoother and more comfortable than nearly every other linen sheet brand and tend to last a long time, so you are getting your money's worth. You will find these sheets on luxury boutique hotel beds throughout Australia as well as high-end B&Bs in the U.S. The Best Budget-Friendly Sheets for a Five-Star Hotel Experience If the price tag on the above sheets is a little too high for you, have no fear. There are plenty of excellent bedding companies out there offering high-end quality at more reasonable price points. Read on for our favorite. Ok, ok. We get it. Luxury sheets are not priced for the budget-conscious. However, you do not have to be able to actually afford a night in a luxury hotel to sleep as you do. Brooklinen is a relative newcomer to the bedding industry, but it's rapidly making a name for itself with luxury-caliber sheets and linens at more reasonable price points. The Classic Core Sheet Set starts at just over $100, while our favorite — the Luxe Hardcore Sheet Set — is still far cheaper than many options on this list. Save on your sheets, and maybe splurge on a luxury hotel vacation. How to Make Your Bed Like a Hotel — A Luxury Hotel, That Is If you've ever slipped into a bed at any of the world's best hotels, you know that there's something special about the smooth sheets, the tightly tucked duvet, and how cool and crisp it all feels against your skin. What is the key to recreating this at home? For starters, you will want to forego the fitted bottom sheet. You read that right. In order to get that perfectly smooth, wrinkle-free base, hotels use oversized flat sheets to line their premium mattress. But executing this is not as easy as it might seem, and you will need to learn a simple new skill: hospital corner. This involves tucking a flat sheet under one side of the mattress — working from one corner to the next. Once you've reached the next corner, pull the excess fabric toward you and then up onto the mattress, creating a 45-degree angle relative to the side of the mattress you've just tucked in. Leave the fabric creating a 45-degree angle atop the mattress and tuck the leftover fabric neatly under the side of the mattress you will be working on next. Then, pull the fabric making the 45-degree angle back down the side of the mattress, flush with the corner. Visual aids come in handy with this, so consult this free how-to video on hospital corners on YouTube. With the hardest part of making your bed up like a luxury hotel over, the rest of the process is fairly self explanatory. The next step is the top sheet, which you will want to place upside down onto the bottom sheet. Take your time to smooth it out, tuck it underneath the foot of the mattress, and use hospital corners to tuck in the other sides and two bottom corners. Once that's done, opt for a proper lightweight down duvet (summer weight is ideal — like this down comforter from Booklinen) and a simple white duvet cover (also available from Brooklinen). Tuck the duvet under the foot of the mattress as well, smooth it out, and fold the top of the duvet down from the top of the mattress. Once you've done that, use hospital corners to get that crisp, clean look for the corners and along the foot of the mattress. Some hotels tuck the duvet in along the sides as well, in which case you will want to fold down the top of the duvet and tuck it underneath afterward. Give it all one final smoothing out by tugging gently on the sides of the duvet along the longer edges of the mattress. You will also need to invest in at least two pillows for each side of the bed. Many hotels mix synthetic and down pillows to help create varying density and firmness, but since this is your home, you might as well indulge in your preferred choice. Add a few throw pillows or shams for good measure as well — they will give you that sink-right-in feeling when you first lay down. And may we suggest a set of decorative throw pillows to tie the whole look together?
