Toile Bedding

Toile fabric was first commercially produced in France in 1760. The word "toile" means "cloth" in French. The fabric was created in a region called Jouy-en-Josas. It was originally referred to as Toile de Jouy for that reason. The first toile prints were usually white or cream. The stories told in the original toile patterns might be the retelling of a Greek or Roman myth, a sailing adventure, or simply the daily life of a farmer in the French countryside.Today the word toile is used to describe an elegant printing technique with engraving-like detail which tells a story with the images depicted. The images consist of a pattern of a single color, most often black, dark red, or blue. Greens and magenta colors sometimes make an appearance in toile patterns but are less common. The intricacy and uniqueness of these designs has kept them alive since their first appearances in the 1700's. These patterns can be found on any base from bedding, linens, and curtains to wallpaper and even recently, clothing. Toile remains most popular for bedding and linens and the top manufacturers all offer a toile ensemble. Ranging from traditional French country scenes to florals these bedding ensembles are a beautiful way to enhance your living space and create decorating detail that simply can not be found in other designs. Some of the different offerings by bedding manufacturers are described in the rest of the article.A.L. Ellis Inc. produces a line of toile bedding which they print themselves. Their elegant French country scenes are printed on a cream colored background and come in black, blue, sage, or red. To keep with this French country theme, the toile comforters are paired with a checked bed skirt.Thomasville Home Furnishings has recently released a pattern called Cherrington, which is a more modern toile featuring a gorgeous oversized floral pattern on a sapphire blue background. To give this set a striking positive/negative effect, the comforter is paired with sheets in a blue toile pattern on a crisp white background. Thomasville is also planning to release several more traditional toile patterns in the coming months. Curtain and Drapery Fashions is a company that makes bedding using a classic toile fabric by Waverly called Country Life. These ensembles come in either black or wedgewood and include a wide array of products including comforter sets, throw pillows, and window treatments. Many manufacturers offer bedding ensembles, curtains, upholstery and much more in toile patterns. The most popular offerings have been described here. When you purchase a toile bedding ensemble you can take your style a step further by adding matching window treatments, shower curtains and even furniture with toile patterned upholstery. With today's technology and a wide variety of offerings by fine manufacturers anyone can beautifully decorate their home with patterns and designs that were available only from professional decorators in the past.Comments Questions Email Here document.write(new Date().getFullYear()); HowtoAdvice.com

Pillow Fight: How Throw Pillows Almost Ruined My Marriage
Pillow Fight: How Throw Pillows Almost Ruined My Marriage
On Sunday, the last day of our Winter Break, we decided to take the kids to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts to see the Forbidden City Exhibit before it leaves town. Plus, it makes us look like good parents if the last memory our children have to share on their first day back at school is one of an enriching cultural experience and not the day that I let them wear their pajamas all day and did not make them brush their teeth. The exhibit was amazing to say the least. The detail and precision in the ink and color drawings that have survived the last several centuries is beyond my comprehension. Beautiful ceremonial clothing was on display next to artwork in which the royalty was wearing each piece. The rest for the artists' paint brushes was a beautiful sculpture; not unlike the plastic stadium cup left over from a Virginia Tech game that I use for paint brushes when I am feeling creative. Every detail of their lives included beauty, luxury and grandeur. Which brings me to my throw pillows. My Beloved loves simplicity. We have had an ongoing argument about the ornamentation on what we call our common marital bed. It's our room; but let's face it, I am the one decorating it. He hates throw pillows. In fact, he hates any pillow other than the two that he can lay his head on to sleep. No shams, no decorative king size pillows, no round bolsters. Just plain pillows, flat as I can buy them and cheap as they come. His argument is, plain and simple: what is the point? My rebuttal is: because it's pretty. We are not silk and satin people. There are no tassels, no bejeweling, no sequins, no feathers. It is not a bordello nor could it pass as a cheap hotel or a lover's getaway. However, after watching Downton Abbey, I've come to realize that our bed looks more like the servants quarters; after viewing the Forbidden City exhibit I've realized that we are in fact peasants with our plain white sheets and flax colored quilt. Why does it matter? In the long run, it does not . It's a pillow, it's a decoration, it's fluff covered in fabric. However, looking at it through the eyes of history, it seems to reflect more than that. A beautiful home reflects an appreciation for not only art, but for hard work and craftsmanship. It represents the fact that beauty in our surroundings brings joy and happiness and shows what is important to us as a society. Life is hard; beauty makes it easier to endure those hardships at times. Do I need a throw pillow to have a happy marriage? No. I've had a happy marriage for almost 12 years while sleeping in a bed that is used on the set of "Orange is The New Black". That being said, when I went on a bit of a spree during the last week of break and bought a new comforter and (gasp) three throw pillows (and grasp your heart) two shams, I braced myself for an argument. In fact, I headed it off before it started. He walked in the door and I told him that I understood his feelings on unnecessary bedroom pillows; however his bed is currently covered in them and he was not to say a word. Not one single word. His inner man could scream in protest, but my inner wife needed something to sleep on that did not resemble the standardized bedding in hospitals across the country. To appease my need for a beautiful space he could suck it up and throw them on the floor on my side of the bed, but he was never to say a word about it. Which is exactly what he's done for the last week. He does not even look my way as he tosses the pillow sham and accompanying throw pillows over my head enthusiastically to the floor. The smug smile on his face tells me that he loves me enough to endure it, no matter the frivolity that he's deemed unnecessary. He's happy because he thinks that by ignoring his own irritation it's making me happy; I am happy because I got my throw pillows. When I make my bed in the morning, its for no other reason than to see something beautiful before I leave to go to work and to know that at the end of the day I get to enjoy it again. He's happy because he has an excuse to throw things in my direction every night without getting yelled at.Win-winWhat do you think that ruined Pokemon?the anime english because the old poke mon wasgood but the new pokemon sucks

If a landowner did not opt for an iconic herm, he would simply amass loose stones at the four corners of his property. Despite being non-representational, these markers were still considered sacred to Hermes (Roman: Mercury). This zipper method is great for upholstery projects and it does not require an invisible zipper foot or zipper. You can use a standard zipper and zipper foot for this method, but it is a little nerve-wracking. We will sew the zipper on a closed seam and open it up using a seam ripper to expose the zipper. You will be able to see your bottom thread on the finished pillow. This is perfect for fabrics that wo not be damaged using a seam ripper too close to a seam. You can use this for almost anything! What happens if renter does not want to move after 30 day written notice? You can not . 30 days is just that. They will tell you the exact time, you have to be home to change the locks. They will also call the day before to confirm that you will be needing their services. My city charges 75 for a sheriff's removal. If you are unsure what is going to happen, I will break it down. You may want your wife elsewhere, this can get stressful and she does not need additional stress. The sheriff arrives, tells Mr. and Mrs. Loser that it is time to go. They can take whatever they can carry out the door. The sheriff will leave the rest outside, on the public street for them. They are informed that if they set foot on your property again they will be arrested for trespassing and any other crime they commit. If they refuse to leave the house the sheriff will arrest them there on the spot and help them into the police car. (do you see why your wife needs to be elsewhere?) You have to be there and you are expected to change the locks immediately. If you do not know how (easiest is to install new) then you are expected to have a locksmith with you. Trust me, the locksmiths know the drill, this is their bread and butter.Do they still allow hunting in Australia and the UK?In the Uk, hunting foxes is banned, but hunting by foot with guns, e.g. shotguns is legal on prvate land, air rifles can be usd but on private land for hunting wih the owners consent, also no bow hunting allowed in the Uk, in australia Bowhunting is a big sport, but hunting native animals e.g. Crocodiles, Wallabies, Kangaroos are banned all natianoal animals are exempt from being hunted. How much protein is right for you?Depends on your weight, exercise habits, your work - you are on foot mostly or chair. Said that. Science says that you should take 0.8-2 grams of protein per kilo of your weight. Now I always recommend people to take 1g/kg for everybody. There are many benefits of high protein diet vs high carb and fat diet. And again, carbs are equally important. I personally consume 1.4 grams of protein. So put it in context, my weight is 76kg so I consume 106 grams of protein everyday. Hope that answers the questionIf you woke up and were told you had 30 minutes before a nuclear bomb would be dropped on your town what would your reaction be?Provided it was a general announcement, getting out my city (London) would be near impossible. That's why my plan is to go inwards, or walk by foot if I am near enough. I happen to live near some very deep tube stations that are sufficiently far from the blast and sufficiently deep they should provide adequate protection against the initial blast. Due to extensive reworks on the ventilation during the 2000s I think the air would be fresher than anything on the surface and after a while camping out I could probably walk down the empty (broken) tube lines out of the city into the "countryside"How do I calculate Distance between two sensors?Finding distances accurate to a few mm is not going to work with LEDs and photodiodes. Light takes about 1 ns per foot. To measure distance with time of arrival you would need resolution of just a few ps. Not only do ordinary LEDs and photodiodes not react that fast, but the circuit to interpret those signals would need to be very very special even if they could. You may be able to get what you want by using ultrasound instead of light. At about 3 ms per meter, you have some chance of getting reasonable resolution. Typical cheap ultrasound transducers are resonant around 40 kHz. Those will probably not be good enough because the limited bandwidth will get in the way of the time resolution you need. You should look at higher frequency ultrasound transmitters and receivers that are also more broad spectrum. You might have a chance with those.Otherwise, there are other techniques than time of arrival to determine position. You could still use light if you can determine the direction of the light instead of trying to measure tiny propagation time differences. Two cameras that look for the location of the beacon in theory would be good enough
Lovely Patio Decor Ideas Perfect for Your Spring Fling
Lovely Patio Decor Ideas Perfect for Your Spring Fling
The fresh flowers, the first rays of sunlight - spring really is the best time of the year. It's also the perfect time to make the most of your patio. Here are five ideas you can use to totally transform your patio, whether you're hosting a garden party or just need a place for the family to get away from the world.1. Add a splash of color Adding a splash of color can transform your patio space, and it's so easy to do. All you need is some paint! Now, there are a few ways to go about this. One approach is to paint the deck flooring for a pop of color. Combined with a carefully positioned table or outdoor couch and you can really effectively create a sense of space.Another approach is to paint any half walls or the house that are incorporated into your garden design. If it's a small space, you can be REALLY bold with your color!2. Incorporate texture with throw pillows One problem that many patio owners have is a lack of texture. Outdoor furniture tends to be fairly conservative in its frills so it's hard wearing and easy to clean, but you do sacrifice for it a little.A solution is to add fun throw pillows in all sorts of beautiful fabric. There are plenty of ways to weatherproof these guys, so the world's your oyster when it comes to picking them out!3. Add fire. Lots of fire.Well, maybe not too much fire. But candles, a fire pit (if you're really ambitious) or survivor-esque torches are all amazing at creating ambiance after the sun goes down. Plus, they're a great way to keep away insects as the summer wears on.4. Invest in some fairy lights There are so many different kinds of fairy lights now that they are a fast and easy way to completely change your patio atmosphere. Whether you go for bulb lights or you opt for the full on Edison style , they're a great investment for your outdoor space. You can also get converters that change a socket into a plug if you're struggling to find a place to plug them in.5. Soften the hard edges with creepers Finally, one of the best things you can do for your patio is add plants to soften the edges a little. If you're patient and willing to wait several years, then roses will look (and smell) amazing. If you don't quite have that kind of time, or you're just not that into gardening (roses take a lot of work) then there are plenty of other plants that will work just as well. Head down to your local garden center and see what they recommend.Plants will look especially nice if you have a louvered pergola patio cover , helping to soften supports and lower the roof for a more intimate setting. Conclusion Those are our five favorite tricks for transforming a patio in springtime. But there's so much more you can do. Just look around your own garden and see what works in your space. Happy decorating!Related Posts:
Make Throw Pillows Look New Again
Make Throw Pillows Look New Again
Throw pillows are an important element of home decorating and comfort. Whether they come from discount stores like Ikea or Walmart or from trendier stores like Pottery Barn, they will all face the same fate eventually. With daily use, couch pillows can become misshapen, lumpy and lose their appeal. Your first instinct might be to throw them out and buy new ones. But before you do, read the steps below. If the fabric is in good condition, and you can hand sew a seam, you can rejuvenate those pillows and make them look like new again. Here's how.1. Rip open the seam.Open one side of your pillow casing with a seam ripper and rip through only the threads holding the seam together. Do not pierce the fabric. Start from about 1 1/2" from one corner and rip to about 1 1/2" from the other end.If your pillow has piping around the edges, try to determine how it was put together. Sometimes, piping is first sewn to one section of fabric and in a second step, the seam is sewn together. This would be the optimum situation. Otherwise, piping is sewn into the seam in one step, which means it will become free when the seam is opened. If that is the case with your pillow, you should machine stitch the piping to one section of the fabric once the seam is open. Attach the piping to the section using a zipper foot and sewing close to the piping.2. Remove the filler. The filler material may be loose clumps or a neatly packaged inner pillow (also called an insert or pillow form). In either case, since it no longer fills out the pillow casing, it needs to be re-wrapped in batting to give it more substance and create a snugger fit inside the casing. After removing the filler, why not take the opportunity to wash or dry clean the casing fabric before continuing this project3. Wrap the filler with "Quilt-Light" batting.Quilt-Light batting is a Mountain Mist product but a similar weight batting from another manufacturer will work just as well. Begin by laying the insert in the center of a square of batting and folding the left and right sides of the batting to the center so that the insert is enclosed. Cut the width of the batting if necessary so the left and right meet with little or no overlap.Do the same with the top and bottom batting sides. Bring the top batting piece down to the center, and the bottom piece up to meet it, smoothly tucking in sides.Sew the two batting edges together being sure they lie flat where they meet. You should now have a neat little package.4. Stuff the casing.Stuff the newly wrapped insert inside the casing. Squeeze it together to get it into the opening. Move your hands around inside smoothing out the insert and batting and moving the corners of the package into the casing corners as best you can. When you're done, if the corners still appear to be empty, cut pieces of batting and stuff the corners. Do not ball up the batting, simply poke it into the corners and blend the remaining edges into the rest of the pillow.5. Pin from centerStarting with the center of the opening, pin the seam closed with one pin. To do this pull the seam taught on both ends, being sure the two casing fabrics are evenly matched.6. Secure the entire opening. After the center pin is in place, use the same method to continue pining until the entire opening is closed.7. FinishFinish by slip stitching the seam together using matching thread. Remove the pins. Pound the pillow around a bit so the filler settles uniformly into its casing.See Other Craft And Sewing IdeasThe Best Affordable 5 Thread SergerWhich Digital Stencil Cutter To BuyWhich Sewing Machine To BuyWhat Sewing Patterns Don't Tell YouPlan A Sewing Room On A BudgetRejuvenate Old Throw PillowsHow To Sew Narrow and Rolled HemsWhere To Store Your Yardstick
Hey Black Friday Shoppers, This Column Is Practically Free!
Hey Black Friday Shoppers, This Column Is Practically Free!
When I was a kid, my parents shopped for one reason: we needed something."Mom, there's a hole in my Toughskins." "Fine, I'll buy you a new pair." "Dad, we're out of shampoo." "OK, I'll get some, but just use dish soap for now. It's the same thing." For my parents, shopping was not a recreational sport that involved hunting for great deals or stocking up or waiting in line for new gadgets. When we hit a mall, we did so with the time-precision of a military squadron. We did not window shop or drift aimlessly from store to store, except to compare prices on the stuff we had already opted to purchase, which is to say, we didn't make optional purchases. If my father set out to buy a can opener, he did not come home with a vacuum cleaner just because it was 90 per cent off."Can that Hoover suck open my cans of tuna?" he would have growled at the clerk.I miss those days.Sure, I may have tottered around on occasion in drafty trousers or with hair that resembled a pigeon lavatory. But thinking about how my parents used to shop, I'm envious of the structural pragmatism, of the utter lack of marketing pressure crushing down on their wallets.Black Friday is nearly upon us. Depending on where you live, you may also be treated to "Gray Thursday." In about 96 hours, it will be Cyber Monday and, yes, soon the retail gurus will find a way to colour-code every shopping day of the year until we're all in the red:It's Turquoise Tuesday!I have tried to understand the allure of Black Friday. Alas, having never mastered the black art of Boxing Day, I mostly get lost in a haze of special offers, door crashers, maximum savings, stackable discounts and all the "lowest price of the year" promises. This is my chief gripe with Black Friday: it's an excuse to buy stuff we don't need.So I'm not here today to steer you toward killer deals. Instead, as a public service, I will simply point out a problem I've noticed in recent years. The retail gurus will tell you Black Friday is now the busiest shopping day of the year. What they won't tell you is it is also causing reasonable people to turn into unhinged shopaholics. Here now, 20 Signs Black Friday Is Making You Crazy 1. You can't remember your social insurance number, but you can calculate shipping and duties for a dozen U.S. retailers in your head.2. Your ringtone is an old-timey cash register.3. You have considered paying a homeless person to save you a great parking spot by sleeping in it the night before.4. You lie and tell your kids Santa's workshop is at an outlet mall in Buffalo.5. You keep the measurements of your major appliances inside your underwear.6. Someone told you about a previous Black Friday incident involving a stampede and you responded, "Yeah, I can totally see that." 7. Using throw pillows and an empty cardboard box, you have practised hurling your body on a flat screen TV just in case it's the last one.8. You recently impulse-bought a new dog and named it "Haggle." 9. You have spent more time reading flyers this week than you have reading books this year.10. When you walk into a Walmart, the greeter remembers you from last year and looks away.11. You will wait six hours in line for a discounted Apple product, but you refuse to waste time in the food court even though your kids are now holding their stomachs and silently weeping.12. Your basement already contains more unopened merchandise than most mom and pop stores in the GTA.13. You made your vacation request for this Friday in 2009.14. You have lubricated your wallet so your Visa slides out faster.15. To get psyched up, you are listening to Muzak all week.16. When friends ask what you're doing Friday, you get suspicious and ask, "Why?" 17. You placed a job ad on Kijiji looking for "strong bag carriers." 18. You have memorized the floor plans of every electronics store within a 10-km radius of your home.19. You are wearing diapers for the first time in your adult life.20. At 90 per cent off, you will buy anything.
The 'in' Things... for Creating a Refreshing Outdoor Living Space
The 'in' Things... for Creating a Refreshing Outdoor Living Space
Designers often talk about the perfect "outdoor living room" - a deck or patio that combines the comfort and style of indoor decorating with the pleasure of relaxing outside. But what separates these outdoor entertaining spaces from more typically decorated backyardsWe've asked three interior designers - Brett Beldock of New York-based Brett Design Inc., Abbe Fenimore of Studio Ten25 in Dallas and Dan Mazzarini of the design firm BHDM - about what items they use to elevate a simple deck or patio to true "outdoor room" status."Adding textiles underfoot," says Mazzarini, brings "that added tactile quality that's expected to be only indoors, and helps sort of redefine the outdoor space."Beldock agrees, and says companies like Sunbrella and Perennials offer soft rugs made of durable, dyed acrylic yarns in gorgeous patterns and colours. "It doesn't feel like plastic," Beldock says, but "you can hose it down."And fortunately, says Fenimore, you don't have to invest a lot - even big-box stores like Sam's Club sometimes offer good-quality outdoor rugs in geometric prints or stripes. Some of these may actually dry more quickly after rain than more expensive, thicker outdoor rugs. Choosing a rug that drains and dries well is especially important if you have a concrete floor or little direct sunlight. But, Fenimore says, don't skimp too much on the price: Very thin acrylic rugs may not last long and may fade quickly. In choosing the number of rugs and their placement, consider defining separate entertaining areas: one rug for the dining area under the table and chairs, and another to define a seating area that serves as a living room.Typical outdoor lighting can be harsh and unflattering, and "overhead lighting is nobody's friend," says Mazzarini. So look for outdoor table lamps and floor lamps to add the soft glow of indoor lighting.Although they vary in what weather conditions they can handle, outdoor lamps can be used throughout much of the year, Mazzarini says.Fenimore agrees: "Bringing in lamplight, especially outside, is really beautiful and subtle," she says, and it's easy to find a wide range of styles and prices for outdoor lamps at home decor retailers. As a finishing touch, Beldock loves adding to the glow by using lots of candles with glass hurricane covers.Managing the air is another indoor touch you can work with outdoors. For clients in Texas, Fenimore often suggests fans to circulate the air on an outdoor patio. At her own home, "we have a wall-mounted fan hanging under one of the eaves," she says, to keep air moving and hopefully deter mosquitoes. For colder evenings, standing space heaters can take the chill out of a space and complement the warmth from a firepit.Just as with your indoor living room, choose a comfortable, stylish sofa for outdoors and pair it with a loveseat or comfortable upholstered chairs. Indoor/outdoor fabrics have come a long way, these designers say, so choose a texture that feels like indoor upholstery. And don't just stick with one colour, says Beldock: "Mix and match fabrics the way you do in an indoor situation."Although outdoor sofa styles vary widely, Beldock says the sectional "peanut sofa" by Bonaldo is popular for outdoor living rooms, and it's available in a wide range of soft outdoor fabrics.Velvety, chenille fabrics durable enough for outdoors have become popular, says Fenimore. Despite their cozy texture, she says, these fabrics don't trap heat and can be comfortable all summer long.To complete the look, add throw pillows to your outdoor sofa. Many outdoor throw pillows are available with stuffing that can dry easily without getting mouldly.Another option, Fenimore says, is using beautiful indoor throw pillows when you entertain outside and then bringing them in when the party is over. A deep pile of pillows will bring indoor comfort to your outdoor sofa, encouraging guests to stay and relax, she says.Finishing touch: Fenimore suggests keeping a container filled with soft, lightweight throw blankets so that guests lounging outdoors in the evening can have that extra touch of softness and luxury if the wind begins to blow.
Why I DIY: 5 Reasons Everyone Should Build Their Own Furniture
Why I DIY: 5 Reasons Everyone Should Build Their Own Furniture
I love DIY After building our home from scratch and all the furniture in it, you'd think I'd be tired of doing things myself. But despite building hundreds of projects for my blog and designing thousands of furniture plans, I can think of nothing I'd rather be doing than DIYing a new project.I still get tingles as the project takes shape. Sometimes I can't sleep when I'm in the middle of a project, like a child on Christmas Eve.But this isn't just about me having a crazy obsession with DIY. There's actually good reason I keep coming back to the saw. Five of them, to be exact.1. You can save tons of money I originally became a DIYer because I simply didn't have the budget to buy the things I needed. A new bed would have cost us thousands of dollars -- thousands of dollars we didn't have. So I turned to DIY. Using tools from our garage and $80 in new lumber, I built our Farmhouse Bed in just eight hours. We saved thousands of dollars and built a solid wood bed we still sleep on today. After building our Farmhouse Bed, of course, I went on to furnish our entire home with handmade furniture, saving tens of thousands of dollars in the process.DIYing furniture in particular is at the top of my list because the savings are so dramatic in contrast. DIY your own throw pillows and you could save a few dollars. DIY curtains and you could save a hundred dollars. But DIY your own furniture? The savings can be in the thousands.2. You get exactly what you want When you DIY, you call the shots. You are in total control. You choose the materials to use. You can make your project any size that you want. You can paint it any color that you want. You can make your furniture extra strong, or to suit a particular need. Need a triple bunk bed? Extra tall kitchen cabinets? A vanity with pull out step drawer? Bed with hidden storage compartment? When you DIY, you are the boss of your project.3. DIY can be green Forget made in America, or even made locally--DIY is handmade right in your home. And what could be greener than that? When I DIY furniture, I often use reclaimed wood or locally grown wood for my projects. In contrast to retail furniture, which may have started out as trees in America, then shipped overseas and reshipped back to America to stores, and then finally to your home, DIY furniture can be a very green alternative. When you DIY, you can also choose green materials without upping the cost substantially, if at all. I often build projects for free using reclaimed wood. And for new projects, I can choose to use rapidly renewing wood sources, plywood made with soy-based adhesives instead of formaldehyde, and paint with low or no VOC paints 4. DIYing is a healthy family activity It's not uncommon to find our family in the garage after dinner, with Mom cutting boards while Dad is armed with the drill at the work bench, and our daughter busy painting scrap blocks and gluing them together. The time we have spent DIYing a project together is treasured in our busy schedules. We've bonded together as we've created projects together, building much more than a table or bench in the process. We are also building memories tied to each project we DIY.DIY also requires movement and exercise, burning upwards of 300 calories an hour, so as a Mom, I am comforted to know our hobby isn't just healthy for our budget and earth, but it is healthy for my family as well.5. DIYing is fun and rewarding But like all choices in life, what keeps me excited about DIYing is very simple: DIY is fun and rewarding. We all have an inner child in us that just wants to do something because it's enjoyable. Remember building with Lincoln logs or legos as a kid? Or play forts with blankets and chairs? Wasn't that fun? Guess what? DIYing as an adult is super fun, and you may be surprised how exciting it is to build your own table or bed!And when you finish your project and move it inside, and your child wants to sleep in his or her own bed because Mom made it special for them, or your family sits down to eat dinner at a table you made, the sense of accomplishment will get you excited to build your next project. So the next time you're thinking about buying something, consider this: Do you want to save money? Can you make it to better suit your needs? Would you rather not deal with packaging waste and make greener choices? Does your family need some healthy bonding time? Try DIYing. You'll be surprised at how fun and rewarding it is!Visit Ana's website.Pick up a copy of her book, The Handbuilt Home.
